A third round pick of the Texas Rangers out of High School, Michael Schlact was destined for the Big Leagues. Unfortunately, things didn't turn the way out as he hoped. Seven years in the minors he received the news that no player ever wants to hear. He was being released. After bouncing around Independent Baseball for a few years he hung up his spikes for turfs, he was now a coach. This past season he was named manager of the Fargo-Moorhead Redhawks in the American Association. His perspective of the game and how it shaped him as a person is very inspirational.
