Join in listening to our roundtable discussion about helping the poor. The last few weeks of season 2, we spent time talking about Jesus and his teachings/actions with the poor...we want to explore a bit about what things are like in our region in 2020.
Our roundtable participants include Amy Reynolds who is a New Hoper and she works in the Probation Dept of Coles County, Nicole Eversole who is also a New Hoper and she works as a Case Worker with Kemmer Village in Assumption, IL and Austin Haddock who has family attending New Hope and he works for the DCFS in the Peoria, IL region.
Listen in as we discuss the common threads that seem to keep many in poverty, addiction and cyclical problems. Is it systemic? How can we help? Can we make a difference? What should the church do in 2020?
Please note: we are just some friends from a church in Effingham, IL talking...we are not professing to be professionals with concrete answers or anything close. There are many podcasts and people who tackle some of these issues with incredible resources but we are people just like you who are just wondering...what would Jesus do?
