It’s finally hip to be square on Facebook starting tomorrow whereas the Flexible image aspect ratio will be the default meaning you can leverage any aspect ratio with certain parameters. Anything taller or wider would have to be cropped. This means less cropping and an easy way to create ads.
Thank goodness. The square image default now on Facebook is just what we need!
The recommended crop key is now set at 100 x 100.
Initial testing saw that the square image link ads showed more improvement in click-through and conversion rates. So even though we had it for Instagram – it wasn’t as friendly on Facebook – but now it is!
It’s recommended that we move to square ads so tell your image creatives to move to the new format.
It will make sharing between Facebook and Instagram way easier. It’s finally hip to be square!
