A person needs to know you, your reputation, and your product or service before they are willing to buy. Building visibility, trust and a positive reputation takes time with a series of memorable contacts.
Those contacts can be from light exposure with a social media ad, it can be a special press release in your local newspaper, it can also be small reminders you place in the person’s email area or the actual shopping bag notice thanking them for the sale and reminding them of a fun event coming up for your business.
Rest assured that repeating your message is key. That rule of 7 is important. Many people will not even know they have seen your message 7 times. When asked by a local store owner how they heard about an in store sales event most people said the glossy vista printed postcard they saw in the store prompted them to come in. But in reality - it was a number of social media outreaches, paid ads and both instagram stories and fb stories that were SHARED with others - that had them see the message over 7 times and there they are in your business. When they tell you - oh this card here told me - that is not accurate.
No one likes to be manipulated. Most people will not tell you that an advertisement influenced them to come in - they will tell you they just drove by or a friend told me. Not really…...
Understand it is everything - it’s a process ……. Smart marketers do everything!
Enjoy the long weekend! Don't forge to listen to one of those Alexa playlists I mentioned. Try asking Alexa to "play the playlist Christmas Past" and it will get you in the mood for that holiday decorating you might be taking part in this weekend.
