Description

Jocelyn Brewer is the creator of Digital Nutrition who has been exploring the impacts of technology and hyperconnected lifestyles for a decade. She is a registered psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia and part of Australia’s first cyber-psychology research group. In addition, Jocelyn has over 13 years experience in public education as both a teacher and school counselor.

On this episode, Jocelyn and I discussed digital nutrition and how it is a more wholistic approach to technology use than simply labeling the technology as addictive. We discuss two different schools of psychology CBT or cognitive behavioral therapy and ACT or acceptance & commitment therapy.

Since Jocelyn often interacts with kids in a school environment, we focused a lot of the conversation on the impact technology is having on “Screenagers” and even explored Jocelyn’s approach to technology with her two year old daughter.

Jocelyn brings a sharp intellect and lighthearted approach to a serious topic and I loved chatting with her. As always, you can find more info on Jocelyn and her work in the show links.
