At some point in all of our lives, we’ve experienced anxiety in one form or another, whether it be the lump in your throat right before making a presentation at work, or the butterflies in your stomach when you’re invited to a party where you don’t know anyone. So when do we know if what we’re feeling is ‘normal’ or a problem?
My guest today, Marcus Bales, has suffered from social anxiety since childhood. However, in a twist of fate, Marcus’ social anxiety is what inspired him to become a professional speaker, author, and coach. He has helped countless people find their voice and his book, Don’t Shut Up, offers advice on how to overcome social anxiety.
In this episode, Marcus walks us through the debilitating social anxiety he faced as a child and how he was able to overcome it. He also discusses the spectrum of social anxiety and pinpoints when he believes one should seek help for their anxiety.
Tune in to Episode 142 of REJUVENAGING® to listen to Marcus Bales talk about how he was able to face his fears and how we can do the same.
