As Tuesday the 4th February 2020 is World Cancer Day, Sandy speaks to Iyna from Sakoon through cancer.

Iyna explains her experiences of being diagnosed with cancer following a screening, the treatments she found available via the NHS and her mental health following remission.

Iyna also expresses her thoughts on the mental health of her family members through her treatment and the effects of chemotherapy and cancer treatment on the family.

Sakoon Through Cancer offer Self-Support Groups, Organise events and campaigns to promote breast cancer education, Promote participation in cancer screening programmes, Campaign, advocating and collaborating for effective cancer services for the POSOA (Persons of South Asian Origin) community, and look to make grants available to individuals and organisations that provide advocacy, advice, information and research that advances Sakoon Through Cancer’s aims and finally, Provide information and knowledge to support POSOA.

Sakoon Through Cancer are active in the Slough, Maidenhead and Windsor areas.
