Gary Gill is a hairstylist that has headed shows at all the international fashion weeks with brands such Balenciaga, Bottega Veneta, Dries Van Noten, & Vivienne Westwood to name a few.
Gill’s work is heavily influenced by music and youth culture. His teenage years were spent immersed in the punk movement in Brighton and, after moving to London at the age of 16, he became involved in the club scene. He has been a hairstylist for over 30 years and has worked in fashion as a session stylist for 15 years.
Gill’s work can be seen in the pages of leading fashion titles, including the French, Italian, American and British editions of Vogue, i-D, AnOther, Beauty Papers, Dazed & Confused and Love. He has shot campaigns including brands such as Balenciaga, Bottega Veneta Stella MCartney, Burberry and Mulberry, working with some of the world’s most well-known photographers, models, & recording artists.
I had a full and frank conversation with Gary where he talks about his journey into Hairdressing, where it has taken him and how he is adjusting to the current situation.
