Description

‘I remember when I grew up, my parents said to me …It doesn't matter what you begin your career doing as long as you're either a banker, a doctor or a lawyer or an accountant’.  Simon’s life most certainly started out this way but how it spanned out is refreshingly different from that.

Simon Ong https://www.simonalexanderong.com/  began his working days as a banker at Lehman Brothers just before the crash in 2008.  He was then made redundant job after job which led him to reset his career compass.

Simon and I chat about what he has learnt from his many chapters, how he gets back on track by slowing down, what he perceives the words success and failure mean to him, entrepreneurs and wantrepreneurs and is the cause of stress down to our mental chatter.  He really shares the most phenomenal gems which, though recorded pre-pandemic, pre-lockdown, really are relevant for the times we now find ourselves in.

My book recommendation: Ikigai: The Japanese Secret To Long And Happy Life by Hector Garcia and Francesca Miralles

Chocolate: Green & Black’s 85% (it definitely has been the most popular bar so far!)
