Description

In this episode, Krista connects with Thomas Cussins, the president of Ineffable Music, an independent record company which he co-founded with his college roommate, Igor Katz, when they were students at UC Santa Cruz. What started out as a side hustle soon developed into a serious business and today Ineffable Music is a successful and socially conscious company which aims to disrupt the traditional music business model by allowing artists to keep control and ownership of their music. Thomas talks about the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on the music industry and shares his concerns for the future of live music. Despite the suspension of live shows and festivals, Thomas’ unflappable mindset and blue-collar work ethic make him ready to face the challenges ahead and he has recently launched the Music Business Club, an online resource which offers practical advice for people starting out in the music industry.
