This week Krista welcomes financial expert and entrepreneur, Danetha Doe, to the show. Danetha is the creator of Money and Mimosas, a financial wellbeing resource which helps its subscribers to create a solid financial foundation and provides practical money management tools. Danetha’s mission is to help people heal their relationship with money and she aspires to elevate both self-worth and net worth, explaining that the more confident you feel about your abilities, the more comfortable you will be with asking to be paid what you’re worth.
Krista and Danetha discuss the taboos that exist around money and selling and agree that helping people to see money as energy, and as an exchange of gifts, can help to shift their negative attitudes and attract more abundance into their lives. As a successful Jamaican Ghanaian American woman in business, Danetha opens up about her relationships with her white girlfriends and their sometimes problematic attitudes to her success. She calls on white women to recognize their privilege and implores them to stop intellectualizing the issues around race and start showing up as truly supportive and empathetic friends and allies.
