Ladies and gentlemen, it’s that time of the week and we are FREAKING PSYCHED.
It’s nearly the holidays, we can taste the mimosas (or eggnog for those up north) and we have a festive treat for you: another podcast.
This week we’re diving into the story of Queen Amanirenas, the woman who took on the Roman empire and won.
Yep - you read that right. The Roman empire thought they could beat the Queen of Kush, turn her people into slaves and take over her kingdom - modern Sudan.
Lol, they were so wrong.
In this episode, you’ll hear about the long line of Kandices of Kush, how Amanirenas lost an eye, what she used to cover it up, her legendary hands and the mysterious hieroglyphics that remain an enigma to this day.
