Straight arrow 2nd generation LAPD Sgt. Ed Exley (Guy Pearce) finds himself embroiled with hot-tempered heavy Officer Bud White (Russell Crowe) and jaded, status obsessed Sgt. Jack Vincennes (Kevin Spacey) in a sprawling investigation that takes in murder, prostitution, and political scandal, where allegiances, ambition, power and morality come in to question.
