Description

Happy Friday! Today the ladies have a chat about sleep and sleep disorders. They begin a conversation about dreams, and in 2 weeks you can expect two great episodes; the first will ponder possible meanings of common dreams and in the second episode, the ladies will take a crack at analyzing YOU.

Heather had a lucid dream while in sleep paralysis, according to resident expert Chryssy. We discuss this dream but not it’s meaning (though expert Chryssy purports that it was a “feeling alone / unable to communicate or connect” dream).

Chryssy tells us about her lifelong DREAM to become a sleep and dream researcher and expert. Then she tells us everything she’s ever learned in her self-study of these topics, starting in the 4th grade with Freud and ending with being unable to recall the actual areas and functions of the brain at work during sleep, but giving you a jumping off point to your own study.

We discuss the merits and necessities of sleep, and take a look at what Harvard has to say about it. http://healthysleep.med.harvard.edu/healthy/matters/benefits-of-sleep/why-do-we-sleep

Chryssy encourages you to go down the fascinating rabbit hole of sleep and dreamland. Here are a couple places to start.

Twice on today’s show, Chryssy gives Heather a shout out for just being a terrific friend and human, but it’s nice to say it in the notes, too. Hoorary for Heather. And hooray for sleep and dreams.

Until next time.
