Chryssy is still enjoying the fruits of our labors from the 100th episode. She shares a couple stories from listeners, one is heartwarming and the other is just funny.
She then sends a big shout out to our face blind friend Paula, who will feel Chryssy’s pain on the next story. Could you be convinced one of your best friends was a stranger simply by another member of your party saying, “I don’t think that’s her?” Chryssy could. Could you gaff again, even worse, and ask her if her boyfriend, who you have met several times and had dinner at his home, was her father? Chryssy could. Yikes.
We get into the Book Club Book Review today. The ladies discuss Brene Brown’s The Gifts of Imperfection. This was our first book club book, and it was a great place to begin. It’s about self reflection and self-acceptance. Brene Brown was toeing the line on embracing ourselves, flaws and all, while Chryssy and Heather were still in their formative stages on the topic.
The show ends with the announcement of the next book club book. We are reading “Wild” by Cheryl Strayed, Chryssy’s siren song of transformation as well as her personal beacon for how to pack excellent, tear-jerking writing into a mere couple of pages. Get Wild on order now. We will be talking about it in about a month. Here’s the link. https://www.amazon.com/Wild-Found-Pacific-Crest-Oprahs-ebook/dp/B005IQZB14
Until next time.
