Description

The term "legend" is bandied about a lot these days in football, usually to badge kissing players that say the right thing to fans. Roy Hunter however comes under the category of true Cobblers legend. Listen to his story and you'll understand why.

He never courted attention and went about his business in the centre of the park for Northampton over 7 seasons and was a key player in getting Cobblers to Wembley 2 years on the bounce.

A talented young player, listen to how Hunter was part of a good crop of youngsters in his local area before going to West Brom like his hero Bryan Robson. From the Baggies, Hunter came to Sixfields to play for Ian Atkins and soon became a fans' favourite with dominant, all action displays in the middle of the park.

Roy talks about the Wembley highs and injury lows and for the first time about the upsetting way he came to leave the Cobblers.
