Welcome back to the Coach’s Corner with Dr. Janet Fienemann! This week, Dr. Janet and I are talking about the importance of recognizing your unmet needs and how they are influencing your thoughts and feelings.
In this episode, Dr. Janet and I are talking about an exercise that she calls “Mindfulness 101”. This exercise is to ask yourself and write down: what do you want, what do you feel, what do you think, and what do you need? We are conditioned from a young age to put others' needs before our own, leading to us not knowing what we want and wanting to make everyone around us happy. This conditioning leads to resentment and exhaustion because our needs are not being met. When you tune in to your own thoughts and gain clarity on how your unmet needs are impacting your feelings, you will see the value in prioritizing your needs.
