What if you took a standard '90s Harrison Ford-style 'Dad in danger' movie and had Martin Scorsese direct it? You get Cape Fear. To quote Roger Ebert, "Everyone in this film is weak in one way or another, and there are no heroes. That's the Scorsese touch." Brilliant, no notes.
