On February 24th, 2022, the entire world braced itself, watching Russian forces break into Ukraine’s borders in what is considered the most extensive military invasion in Europe since World War II. Now, more than six months later and after the death of thousands of innocent people, the outlook of the war lies uncertain in front of us. Despite failing its initial plan, Russia doesn’t seem to back down. On August 24th, Ukraine celebrated its Independence day in grim and surreal circumstances. Nevertheless, despite the pain and suffering, its people don’t give up. Ukrainian people rise daily to fight for their country and the future they believe in.
Today’s guest, Nelya Zhovnerchuk, will tell us about her upbringing in Ukraine, her decision to move to the United States, and her effort in supporting her country and family during these months of the war.
Nelya Zhovnerchuk was born and raised in Ukraine. She received her Bachelor of Science from the Khmelnitskij University in Ukraine. After moving to the United States, she completed a Bachelor of Arts from the Art Institute of California fashion design, graduating valedictorian. Currently, she is a real estate agent on The Jordan Team of Keller Williams Whittier.
