Description

Have you ever thought the reason behind your success is just luck?

Not fitting into what society understands as being smart can make people doubt their intelligence, capacity to succeed in life, and even the merits of their accomplishments.

In today's episode, I'm excited to welcome Patty Arvielo to the show. Patty is a Forbes 50 over 50 award-winning entrepreneur, co-founder, and president of New American Funding. She is a first-generation Hispanic, who started in the mortgage industry at 16, owner of such a strict work ethic, that she went from an entry-level position to branch manager and assistant vice-president. Patty also champions female entrepreneurs and promotes diversity and inclusion; New American Funding is almost 60% female and 43% minorities employed.

Tune in to Episode 106 of Amiga, Handle Your Shit, and learn how Patty, who has an attention deficit disorder that runs in her family, can't focus, and doesn't see numbers, runs one of the largest independent mortgage lenders in the United States. Patty talks about how not being book-smart led her to hold on to impostor syndrome, thinking her business success was a byproduct of being in the right place at the right time. She also talks about the hundreds of mistakes that helped her build self-confidence, her fears, the small and huge wins, and so much more.
