Description

Did you ever stop doing something because you got a resounding NO for an answer?

Dealing with rejection is tough, regardless of whether it happens in the personal or professional sphere. It is uncomfortable to put ourselves out there, asking for things, expose a need fed by our dreams, and get a door closed in our faces. Still, the decision to turn a negative answer into a definitive response is ours; we get to decide if the "no" we hear is the final word. Our guest's successful career is a testament to that.

In this episode, I'm joined by Farrah Walz; she is a professional hairstylist, but not any hairstylist, my hairstylist. She has been cutting hair and creating striking visuals for women since 2009, and she became a salon suite owner in the last couple of years in Whittier, California.

Tune in to Episode 90 of Amiga, Handle Your Shit, and learn about Farra's story of commitment and relentless determination to achieve her dreams. We travel back to her post-high school years, her first job at Macy's, the empowering feeling of financial independence conquered at a young age, and her desire to become a hairstylist. We delve into the challenges she faced along the way and the times she refused to take a no for an answer.

We also talk about her first job as a hairstylist, her part-time job at Drybar in Pacific Palisades, cutting the hair and styling Hollywood movie stars, and the decision to spread her wings and start her own business back home in Whittier.
