Whereas astrology has become a popular practice for many people worldwide, especially in recent years, there is still a lot of skepticism around it. Many skeptics tend to correlate the word astrology with horoscope, its most publicized practice, but this is only a tiny part of it. Numerous astrological methods, like natal charts, are complicated and embedded with years of traditions. Humans have been mapping patterns in the sky for centuries. Ancient Babylonians first carved the heavens into the Western zodiac we recognize today. Astrology was once a vital part of Western European culture, considered a science with the same integrity as astronomy. It was the advent of science in the 17th century that denigrated astrology as a pseudoscience. Nevertheless, its popularity is soaring, even thanks to social media, and people have started using it for many aspects of their lives.
Today’s guest, Ilona Pamplona, will tell us about her background in college education, how Walter Mercado and her mom introduced her to magic and astrology, and why she decided to become the Postmodern Oracle.
