According to the publication from 2018 by Evans et al. in Nature Biotechnology, 41% of graduate students meet the criteria for moderate to severe anxiety and 39% of graduate students meet the criteria for moderate to severe depression. This is, compared to 6% of the general population.
We are battling with a pandemic of mental health and burnout in academia. The problem is very obvious, but what can we do to be a part of the solution?
