Description

April Mitchell is an Avenger, or maybe she's a member of the Justice League: inventor moms are kind of super heroes. Being an inventor is like groundhog day for an entrepreneur - you must create a new company - every day. The trick is to build on the previous day's mistakes to make it farther in the nightmare. Or maybe its more like Tom Cruise in Edge of Tomorrow?

Why is this episode important for Leaders and Entrepreneurs?

  1. Working parents should listen to this (especially working moms). April figured it out.
  2. It takes a village. Learn how April outsources her weaknesses.
  3. We all need to be inventors. Part mad scientist, part operator, part marketer and all salesperson.
  4. Iteration is key. Its about the numbers. Statistically, inventors fail most of the time. Who else does? Sales people.
  5. Be where your customers are.

Aprils' Eating Crow Moments:

  1. Her first licensing deal did not go as planned.
  2. At some point you need to take care of yourself. After some challenges, they stepped back and rebuilt their family's health foundation and amazing things happened.
