A 100% vegan menu of Mexican, Peruvian and Japanese cuisines…what on earth? Calle Rey opened its doors on King St in Newtown in February this year however with the hit of COVID it has flown relatively under the radar. Serving up a unique range of flavours and fusions, Executive Chef JC Miranda is aiming to push the boundaries of plant based cuisine with throwing a whole lot of liquor on the side. Inside Calle Rey you will find Diablo Pisco Bar a Peruvian themed bar offering unique cocktails heroing the Peruvian Pisco and largaritas, ginormous margaritas topped with your choice of Vodka Cruiser or Sol beer. Needless to say there is a lot happening and I’m not sure how we feel about it.
