Hello! Thanks for joining me for another episode of the pod. In today's ep I'm joined by the one and only Jonny Hawkins.Jonny is an actor, writer and the notorious DJ, Aunty Jonny. He grew up on the Central Coast of New South Wales, relocating to Sydney's Northern Beaches, then London, but made Sydney home and thinks of himself as a loyalist despite all his mates moving to Melbourne.As an Actor, Jonny is a proud graduate of WAAPA's Acting course. He has appeared across film and TV in Stan's The Other Guy, Season Two, Les Norton, the ABC's award winning RIOT, The Mini-Series Peter Allan: Not The Boy Next Door.As a writer, he received funding from SBS and CreateNSW to make a short film called Joy Boy, winning Best Film at Melbourne's Queer Film Festival, Best Screenplay at Vivid's Fresh Flix and several international awards. Queer Stories has featured his story "Red Flags" on their podcast. His show, Disco Conversion Therapy, a lecture on the history of Disco, won Melbourne Fringe Festival's Tour Ready Award.
