The Stanley Hotel is located in Estes Park Colorado right on the doorstep of the Rocky Mountain National Park.
It has been many things since it opened in 1909 and it also inspired the Overlook Hotel in Stephen King’s 1977 bestselling novel, ‘The Shining’. King stayed overnight at the hotel…something happened to him there, something he will never forget.
