Today on Long Island Tea, it’s a very special on-location episode at the ICONIC Oheka Castle. This beautiful Gold Coast estate built in 1919, sits on a 443 acre plot, and was the second-largest private residence ever built. It was known to have been the inspiration of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s The Great Gatsby.
It was restored in the 80s back to it’s original historical grandeur. Today this mansion is a popular wedding venue for many celebrities and socialites with it’s lavish formal gardens and opulent ballrooms. It has been the backdrop and filming location in many movies, tv shows, music videos, and photoshoots. And it also contains a luxurious hotel with 32 guest rooms and suites and an elegant bar and restautant with outdoor terrace.
Kristen recaps her visit to Arizona, picking up Kenzie from college and doing some media interviews representing Long Island. The ladies talk about Discover Long Island’s National Travel and Tourism Week/ networking event at One10 restaurant in Melville. Also, Discover Long Island has also launched our new “Where you Belong, Long Island Locals” series, which you can see on YouTube at youtibe.com/DisccoverLongIslandNY
