Description

This week the NSFT podcast comes from school and parent support. Psychologists Dr Beth Mosley and Dr Alison Woods are joined by Alex Baker, teacher and member of the senior leadership team at Thurston Community College. They discuss the stress on school staff and Alex tells us some of the small, but surprisingly powerful things school staff have done to stay in touch and support one another.

This podcast is full of insight and support for everyone who has been involved in the school environment during the pandemic (including parents), discussing the last minute changes of plan, adjusting, remote-learning as well as the joy of being back together last term. Beth introduces the term 'moral injury' the feeling of guilt at the service you want to give, but just can't due to the current circumstances, a feeling many can relate to right now.

We are reminded to notice the things we have done well each day and some really practical solutions, to keep young people connected with each other, now many are stuck back at home.
