Description

For this month's interview, I'm trying something new and shining a spotlight on a small business that I hope our community actively supports: Four City Brewing in Orange.

I had the chance to talk to Roger Apollon, one of the brewery's owners. We touched on what it takes to break into the craft brewery business, its foothold in New Jersey, what it's like being one of only a handful of black entrepreneurs in the field, and how to use one's business to not be used as a tool for gentrification but rather as a source of community strength and enrichment.

This one went in about a hundred directions I didn't expect and that blew my mind. I hope you get something out of it too!

This is going live on Monday the 14th. If you're free Friday the 18th from 6PM to 8PM, come hang out in Orange and check out Four City for yourself. If you're a patron your first drink is on me (and Turnpike tier, let's make it the first two!) There's no better reason to join up at www.patreon.com/newjerseyistheworld than to get a free drink out of it!
