Hello Friends
Pour yourself a drink and get ready for this episode... Did you assume we meant alcohol? Why is "grabbing a drink" or "going for drinks" synonymous with alcohol. Why does our culture normalize and even celebrate drinking culture when we know the effects can be negative if not devastating for many individuals?
In today's episode we chatted with our pal Fiona Hepher from Sansorium all about alcohol, drinking, and drinking culture. Along with her mother and sister Fiona pioneered Sansorium a brand dedicated to maintaining the social, celebratory, and communal desire to share food & drink, and is equally committed to elevating the sensory experience of those moments by offering non-alcoholic offerings that do not skimp on taste or quality.
Our conversation flows from Fiona's roots, her experiences with travel, and living abroad, and of course, how she found her way into the niche, but growing business of providing superb quality 'drinks' without the intoxicating effect. We touch on our own personal stories and experiences with drinking, and the pressure or feeling of obligation to drink. We explore drinking culture, and how it is so pervasive in our society.
Fiona is a wonderful conversationalist, a person committed to changing the game, and elevating sobriety as something we should celebrate, regardless of our history with alcohol. We know you'll dig this conversation.
Cheers,
Z&D
