There's no other way of describing these two other than, OG Foodies! Their passion for cooking (and teaching!) started from a very early age for both Railea and Melissa. They both taught home economics at TAFE and have always had a love of food, which they share with their families, and the wider community. They have always been adventurous when it comes to food, in their cooking, but also where they eat out...not to give it away, but Mel's kids started solids at Yum Cha!
Even after having children, both Railea and Melissa found a way to keep their passion for cooking alive. Melissa started Mia Cucina (miacucina.com.au), which initially started as cooking classes from her kitchen, now runs food tours from exploring Vietnamese foods to Turkish delights. Railea has only recently retired, due to COVID, but after this chat, we think she should write a cookbook as a family heirloom!
Full disclosure and you will know from the outset that we know Railea and Mel very well. Railea is Deanne's Aunty, and over the years, we quite often will ask them for advice and recipes!
