This episode I talk to Karl Delahaye about 1980 classic "The Blues Brothers"
Directed by John Landis and written by Dan Aykroyd & John Landis
Based on characters created during their time on Saturday Night Live, this is the story of Jake (Joliet) Blues and his brother Elwood. After Jake is released from prison, he and Elwood make a stop at their old orphanage where they learn that $5000 must be paid in taxes to keep the orphanage open.
The brothers then go about putting the band back together for a one off gig that will get them all the money they need and they start on their “mission from God”.
Along the way they will meet soul and R&B legends: Cab Calloway, Aretha Franklin, James Brown, John Lee Hooker & Ray Charles amongst others.
As always this is a spoiler filled discussion of the film.
