Easy answer -- they choose to. How do we know the Bible is true? It is the Holy Spirit in us that points us to the truth of the Word of God. The Spirit testifies because the Spirit is the truth. When a person falls in love with Jesus Christ, the Spirit has the freedom to point her to the truth of His Word. The Holy Spirit, history, and His death on the cross all testify and agree on who Jesus is. The first step to believing the validity of the Bible is to fall in love with Jesus Christ as your Lord and as your Savior. Romans 10:9-10
