Description

Oh I so loved this conversation, even though I discovered in researching for this interview that I lived 10 minutes away from my next guest for most of our childhoods and teenage years and we went to the same college I only know of Paddy Smyth from what I have seen of him on TV. His biggest gig to date was winning Channel 4’s The Circle, based around catfishing and social media the reality show saw him win 70 thousand pounds and a legion of fans but also brought with it a lot of criticism that Paddy had used cerebal palsy to win. Today we talk about how he dealt with this, how it’s not the first time he’s had to dig deep and push back against bullies and why he’s determined to show that having a disability is not something you should have to hide and ultimately you have the same hopes and wishes as anyone else. Why shouldn't we see someone in a disability in a beauty ad or having fun at a festival advertising a beer - Paddy has set himself these goals and smashed these barriers.

Prepare to fall in love with him, I did.
