Description

On the 29th August 2025, WA Country Cricket lost one of it's favourite sons and arguably one of its finest players of the recent past. Glen Dehring, or Dehro as he was often known, dominated the Cricket fields of WA Country and in fact Australian Country Cricket for nearly 4 decades and was to become the most decorated player in WA Country Crickets history. A former WA Country XI Captain at multiple Australian Country Cricket Championships in the 1990's and 2000's as well as Australian Country XI captain in 1998, Glen stands alone for WA Country when it comes to success at the highest level of the ACCC. In 2025, Glen was named in the Australian Country Cricket Hall of Fame, only the second West Australian to reach that honour. Sadly, on the 29th August 2025, Glen lost his long battle with Cancer. This episode is a tribute to Glen. A gathering of former Marist Cricket Club teammates and ex WA Country XI players - Chris Waddingham (Waddo), Paul Tomasi (Titi), Tony Warren (Rabs), Jeff Wooton (Woots) and Brendan King (Kingy), joined host Rob Marshall in this episode to reflect and remember a remarkable individual, only 24 hours after a massive service in Bunbury had been held to say goodbye to a much loved and cherished member of the WA Country Cricket Community. This is your chance to hear, remember and reflect also. Vale - Glen Dehring.
