People inherently WANT to love photos of themselves but go in with a very critical filter that makes them expect NOT to like it - which adds a whole nother level of discomfort that can have a tangible effect on the result. To me, the overthinking that happens is very much a metaphor for overthinking any of our insecurities in relationships. We end up nurturing the problem by honoring the insecurity instead of the reality.
