Going through massive changes and facing tough challenges seem to be a constant in our guest's life, Vivian Xu. She came to America from China in the '80s as a classical violinist. Then, following her father's advice, she pursued a career in business, getting an MBA from Golden Gate University.
Vivian enjoyed a successful career in finance and operations in the advertising industry. She started as a Finance Director at BBDO, then worked at Bozell. Then she became the CFO of IPG at Avrett Free Ginsberg before returning to China, where she became CFO, COO of Greater China McCann Worldgroup.
In this episode, we delve into a fascinating conversation about cultural differences, personal choices, and inspiring leaders. We compare our experiences at what I call reverse culture shock: coming back to our hometown after long years in a foreign country. We explore the differences and similarities between American and Chinese consumers, leaders, and colleagues to touch on one of The Chemistry Factor purposes, understanding the differences to make seeing what we have in common easier.
Tune in and listen to episode 4 of The Chemistry Factor and learn about the differences that bring people closer.
