Shying away from adversity is a normal reaction; we are programmed to escape pain and seek comfort. Yet, as you'll learn from today's guest, facing hardships is the shortest way through them. In fact, once we name them, they start to lose power over us.
In today's episode, I'm joined by the incredibly inspiring Nick Klingensmith. Nick is a 4-time cancer survivor, type-1 diabetic, and recovering alcoholic with 4 herniated discs, nerve damage, and sleep apnea, who chose to stop relishing in victim mode and became a motivational speaker, mindset coach, and obstacle course racer. He is also the author of "Through The Fire," a beautiful book that narrates how Nick got from the dark place he was to where he is now, physically and, most importantly, mentally.
Throughout this episode, you'll hear Nick's inspiring story of resilience and mental fortitude, his inner work to stand where he stands today, and what he relied on to never throw the towel. He talks about the incredible power of acceptance, its role in his life, and the importance of stopping comparing ourselves; he also shares five tips to stay resilient every day, and more.
Tune in and listen to episode 204 of Grief and Happiness, and let Nick inspire you to face what's stopping you from thriving, accept the parts of it you can't change, and never stop trying until you accomplish your goals.
