Description

At some point in life, we all have to deal with grief and the emotions that come with it.

In this episode, I am joined by Kevin O'Connor, the author of the book, Two Floors above Grief: A Memoir of Two Families in the Unique Place We Called Home. His prior writing includes a dissertation, personal letters, articles in professional publications, anthologies, and presentations delivered at conferences, seminars, and webinars. Raised as the son of a Chicago suburban undertaker, O’Connor built a fifty-year career as an elementary teacher, principal, and graduate instructor in California, Illinois, and Florida.

Throughout this episode, Kevin shares his experience growing up as the son of an undertaker and living in an apartment above a funeral home. He also shares the importance of sending personalized messages to loved ones going through grief. Additionally, you’ll hear about the importance of embracing emotions that come with grief and processing them in a healthy way.
