Sam is from Illinois in the USA and was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at the age of 4. Admittedly Sam has found her Diabetes trickier to manage around certain times in her life, and after a few unsettling incidents with low blood sugars, she decided to get a Diabetic alert dog in 2019, named Korey.
Since having Korey, Sam has become a dog and alert dog trainer, she’s started her own business ( koreythekanine.com ), and they’ve both turned into social media sensations (to say the least), accumulating over 600k followers across their Instagram and Tiktok page! (@korey_the_kanine).
Sam shares amazing insight and detail about her life and relationship with Korey, and gives us an in depth look at how life changing a Diabetic Alert Dog can be for someone living with Type 1 Diabetes.
