In 2015, the London nightclub Dstrkt was accused of having a racist door policy. It sparked a conversation around high end clubs and their attitudes towards women of colour; particularly dark-skinned Black women. Playwright @TheJessHagan was inspired, and put together ‘Queens Of Sheba’ - which tells the story of four Black girlfriends and their different experiences with dating, clubbing and self-esteem. Jessica joins our girl Roshan to chat about colourism, Black aunties and nightclub culture.
Queens Of Sheba is on at the Soho Theatre in London now. Keep up with everything we do @DopeBlackWomen on Twitter and Facebook, and @DopeBlackWomen1 on Instagram.
