"I said to my mum at the age of six that I was going to design for Adidas and play for the All Blacks in a jersey that I designed".
Nick Bassett is a Graphic Designer at Dynasty Sport and a Co-Host of this podcast. Sitting in the guest seat this week, Nick shares his story of growing up in New Zealand as an avid sports lover (especially the All Blacks). We talk his obsession with art in sport and career progression into his dream role working on professional sports team uniforms.
Nick's resilience, confidence and determinism is unassuming but not to be underrated. An extremely talented sportswear artists who's ego doesn't get in the way of feedback and professional development.
We dive into his decision to move to Australia, right before the COVID-19 pandemic, his choice to stay in Brisbane during global shut downs, the passing of his mum while in Australian lockdown and the chaos that follows to get home during this time.
Through it all, Nick emulates the "Glass Half Full" attitude that has got him where he is today.
We discuss his Lasertag career and freelancing in that niche, his favourite project to date, where he grabs his inspiration from and what he hopes to achieve next.
