"Some people go fishing, some people have hobbies. This is mine."
Rob Meredith is the creator of FootyJumpers.com. A comprehensive archive of every AFL guernsey ever worn by an AFL/VFL club. The website holds records of over 7500 uniforms across AFL, AFLW, VFL, SANFL, WAFL and more, including every single game from every single round of the AFL/VFL since 1897.
Over two episodes we chat with Rob about where his interest in guernsey history came from and the instigator for creating the highly beloved website.
We dive deep into the research Rob has done to build "The Jumper Bible" and the work that goes into maintaining it.
Rob chats with us on uniforms during the war, clubs replicating inaccurate historical guernsey and his experiences with AFL & clubs in trying to maintaining the site.
We talk about the unreliable "Shorts Policy", his thoughts on the designs of modern (1990's +) expansion teams, themed rounds, names on guernseys, fonts on guernseys, sponsors and where the future of AFL uniforms might be.
Rob shares his best and worst jumper designs and some amazing AFL guernsey stories.
