We all like to complain and explain and unpack how life is hard, stressful, unfair, challenging, feels less than good and we make lots of plans for feeling better. Often we blame circumstances and sometimes people for how we feel. But what we’re exploring in this episode is how WE are the root of all of our feeling bad. Hard pill to swallow? Take. Three. Deep. Breaths. Now, consider how you might actually be more committed to the stories, beliefs, and expectations that keep you feeling bad than you are to feeling good. It’s a doozy, this one, but it’s a good one.
Listen in to find out what kinds of “feeling bad” we’ve been committed to and how we practice getting clear about what we really want, anchoring those commitments into the body, and recommitting as a practice.
There’s some work in this one for you if you’re up for it.
Special thanks to the work of Gay Hendricks and his three books (The Big Leap, The Genius Zone, and Conscious Luck) that have inspired much of this conversation.
