This week Fi chats to Dr Grace Forbes from Racing Victoria about the vetting process for horses looking to take their place in the Melbourne Cup. In 2021, RV made massive changes to the vetting process after a string of fatal leg injuries from internationals coming to compete in the race. Since the implementation of the new procedures the Melbourne Cup has been run for the last three years without incident showing real progress in this area. Being able to enjoy the Cup knowing all of the horses have passed the strictest vetting procedures in the world for racing is great for racing lovers the world over. We hope you enjoy this episode!
