In light of Women’s History Month, it’s only appropriate that today we take a brief dive into the ever-evolving stats around women and podcasting.
According to new info out from The Spoken Word Audio Report, representation is—shockingly!—more important than ever.
In fact, over 60% of listeners turn to Spoken Word Audio that’s “made for people like [them],” while 55% of listeners turn to Spoken Word Audio for “hosts [they] identify with.”
In another recent study, nearly 70% of female respondents said they prefer female-led lifestyle podcasts.
Hmm… so, let’s get this straight: most women podcast listeners prefer programming for women, by women? [heavy sarcasm] Well that’s something we never could’ve predicted.
The good news? There’s never been a better time as a woman to find—or create!—content that’s tailor made to your specific needs and interests. Pretty cool if you ask me!
