Desiree is a Northern California based country-folk musician with roots in the Bay Area and the ranch lands of San Benito County. Her songs have grown out of a childhood spent listening to old country cassettes and reading western novels on a cattle ranch, and matured into the heartbreaking ballads of soulful anthems that are relevant in present day Oakland.
She pays tribute to the spirit of both the Country & Folk traditions, crafting music that is as vulnerable as it is strong-willed and fierce - she sings with the raw truth of the country greats, and the emotional depth of the often forgotten folk heroes. Her songwriting is intimate and nostalgic, and her music reminiscent of all those that have existed for the sake of the song.

Northern California in true spirit of Country and folk she writes songs rich in melody that combines great themes and imagery. Raw and authentic storytelling with a plain spoken willfulness reveling truths and emotion that evoke memories of past relationships and moments that have past by. She sings with great presence, heart and soul communicating clearly an open vulnerability with tender vocals that cut tough.

“Low Flyin’ Angel”
first verse reads ”I had a love as cold as the ground, when the sun hasn’t shined for miles around,” and “the rain never came to wash it away, it fell down and frozen and there it all stayed.” So good! 🙌
or “ walking below a dark dusty sky, when I came upon an Angel on high, and she told me to pack up my things, and I turned to her said I don’t got your wings” terrific line! Pre chorus to chorus “Cause I ain’t from this side of town, i’ll stay here forever no up or down, where I belong I can’t say, so low flying Angel won’t you be on your way.” Spectacular phasing that’ll give ya them chills! such poetry!
“Mountain Lion Momma” great intro on this song! A cozy acoustic arrangement that sets the vibe and makes ya want to dance! love them verses and the whole sound of this track.
& “Gibson Blues” just to name a few of my favorites!
Like I said though this whole album is the bees knees!! 🐝 🎶✨🤙
