Most of us never uncover our best qualities or true skill sets during our lifetime. That is why it is important to have a coach assist you through the obstacles to find clarity as well as confidence. Matthias Berger was 20 when he left Austria to travel to Australia in what began his incredible journey of luxury travel, exposure to new cultures, sports and leisure, cosmopolitan cities and rural lifestyles. He has lived in 15 countries throughout Asia as well as Europe. He enjoyed Singapore immensely as well as his visits to Hong Kong, Shanghai, Paris, Vienna, Zurich, and Bangkok. He worked for luxury hospitality brands such as Le Meridien, W Hotels, St. Regis, Fairmont and Raffles Hotel. He was also a founding partner of a medical tourism travel agency based in Phuket, Thailand, that delivered both education as well as alternative medical treatments. In 2009, he participated in a “round the world” yacht race as a crewmember on a boat. In 2018, he started his own yachting business in Greece. Matthias has raced in triathlons, including Ironman’s, and understands the connection between healthy lifestyle choices and performance. In Mr. Berger’s observations around performance, he noticed the cause and effect relationship in how one shows up as an athlete, as a business executive as well as a partner. Looking back on his career as a senior executive, he realized he could have benefited from collaborating with a coach. Eventually, he did find and retain a personal coach.Today, Matthias works with C-suite level executives, entrepreneurs, and high performers in sports, arts and science. He understands the level of results demanded on these individuals in their daily work. He says “you can think of him as an unbiased professional empathy with no hidden agenda who listens to you, and unlocks your true potential in the area you choose.” He offers various tools to work with clients in overcoming life and business challenges. Matthias’ passion is to help his clients feel, visualize and live their dream life. Each guest shares their concepts, ideas and experiences of how they are completing their legacy. As coaches can be positive change agents for society, I intentionally asked fellow advisors to speak about their thoughts because they bring out the best in people by their work.*Do you know how you reach a point in your life where you want to leave something greater than yourself but you don’t know who to turn to talk to about this?
