What if the information from your "Inside Team" needs to be expressed for better partnerships, relationships and ... ultimately, your legacy?Cynthia Loy Darst is a Certified Professional Co-Active Coach, a Certified Relationship & Systems Coach and one of the first eight to receive the designation of Master Certified Coach (MCC) from the International Coach Federation in 1998. She is also a Senior Course Leader for both The Co-Active Training Institute and CRR Global (The Center for Right Relationship). Cynthia was a founding member of the International Coach Federation, and has served as President of ACTO (The Assoc. of Coach Training Organizations).Mrs. Darst is the Author of Meet Your Inside Team – How To Turn Internal Conflict Into Clarity and Move Forward With Your Life. Her book is required reading for the EMBA program at Loyola Marymount University where she is a frequent guest speaker. Cynthia personally defines legacy as the “lasting impact” she has had and will have with others she has helped to grow, mentor and coach over the years. As one of the early pioneers to the industry, Mrs. Darst has been one of the leaders to bring “Co-Active Coaching” to the global marketplace. She speaks to the vulnerability when one is out in the world, and asks “how do you hold both the praise (acceptance) as well as the rejection?” Why does the subject of legacy matter to her? It’s personally important because she stands on the shoulders of giants who have given her foundation around ideas to formulate more creativity and thoughts to build on what they began. We also talk about the integrity piece as she intentionally chooses to be in service to others, with her skills and gifts, to give back in honoring those who have given to her. In defining, developing and executing her legacy, Mrs. Darst thought she needed to know where she was going but it turned out the adventurous journey rewarded her with knowledge and unexpected open doors. She credits her luck to “being open to influence” as she has allowed her curiosity to develop her legacy.Cynthia points to the fundamental shift in the industry in how coaches are asking new questions such as “what’s working?”, “where is the client going?” or “what does the client want to create?”As Mrs. Darst is brought into companies to evolve their top talent to the next level of effective leadership, she pulls from her own journey as both a woman as well as a human being. She felt the pressures to perform in “measuring up”, but not the safety to simply be herself in that alone being enough for others. Now that Cynthia feels safe within herself, she can create her legacy without it needing to be a certain way. She asks the “inside team” in each of her clients what it is these players are trying to reveal in their 2% of truth? Though it is counter cultural, this is this coaching tool for breakthroughs.Part of Cynthia’s legacy answers the question of how does she want to experience her life in speaking to the “lifestyle business” coaching offers, compared to the “growth side of the business”. She has the space now to map out and shape her legacy on her terms and timing. Cynthia brings in the concept of introjecting as it relates to bullying or the next-gen’s response to “command & control” styles in business and management. In her words, “it’s a different ballgame today” as relationships are being acknowledged for their role within private and public companies.-Legacy Planning is a boutique advisory firm based in Beverly Hills, CA (USA) that specializes in the coaching and advisory work around personal legacies.
